Workshop/ Seminars organised by the Department Three Days' Workshop on "Communication , Presentation and Interview Skills" on 21-23 Oct. 2013

The Three Days' Workshop on "Communication , Presentation and Interview Skills" on 21-23 Oct. 2013 was organized by the department in collaboration with ECE department. Ms.Rachna Chawla Eminent Corporate Trainer and Business Coach deliberated on Interview Skills , Presentation Skills and Communication Skills. The sessions proved to be higly beneficial for the budding Technocrats. The students participated enthusiastically in the workshop.

One Day Workshop on "Health Care and Wellness of Women" on Oct. 06,2015

The objective of Health care and Wellness of Women workshop was to target the Indian women to help them realise the importance of their health and bring about awareness among them for major causes of concern. The experts for the workshop discussed about the general health issues among women in India. This workshop was designed to discuss some of the most compelling health care issues like cervical cancer, breast cancer, osteoporosis, sports injury, stress management and other severe gynecological issues among women. The workshop targeted at motivating women to manage their lifestyle for a healthy and long life. The workshop helped them to know about the causes and outcomes along with methods of daily stress management. Health and wellness workshop was designed as a forum to help answer wide range of health related problems.

One Week National Workshop on "Soft Skills from Classroom to Corporate " from 08-13 Feb. 2016

The Department of English in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a one week National Workshop on “Softskills from Classroom to Corporate”from 08-13 February, 2016 under TEQIP II. The chief guest for the inaugural ceremony was Dr. M. Raisinghani, former Principal Engineering College, Ajmer and Former Professor, MNIT Jaipur and Guest of Honour were Dr. Manish Jindal, Registrar-PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh and Dr. Sanjay Kaushik, Professor, University Business School , Chandigarh. Eminent speakers namely Prof. Supriya Agarwal - Central University Rajasthan, Ptof. M. Hasan, former Professor, Offcers’ Training School, Jaipur,Dr. Dipti Sharma and Dr. Preeti Bhatt - MNIT, Jaipur, Dr. Rajesh Jhamb from Panjab University, Chandigarh , Mam Sandra Lee from Sophia College, Ajmer, Dr. Sanju Chaudhary- University of Rajasthan, Mr. Ankur Pathak from Kanpur, Dr. Rashmi Bhatnagar - Govt. C ollege, Sojat, Mam Mahima Gaur from Govt. College Bheem etc deliberated in the different technical sessions. About hundred Academecins, research scholars, and students from different parts of the country participated and enhanced their softskills. The technical sessions focused upon Communication Skills, Workplace Etiquette, Cultural Adaptability, Positive Attitude, Team-work, Time Management, Gender Issues at Workplace, Interview skills, Resume Writing, Etiquette, Manners and other Interpersonal Skills. Soft Skills provided a window into the true inner self of people and helped in accelerating their career growth. The six days long workshop culminated on February 13,2016 where Mr. Naveen Gokhru General Manager –HMT Ajmer presided over as Chief Guest in the Valedictory Function along with Mr. H.N Saxena as Guest of Honor. The event was successfully coordinated and organized by Dr. Shikha Jhanwar, Dr. Saroj Bala Gupta, Ms. Shveta Tripathi and Mr. Jai Gopal Gupta.

Two Day National Workshop on Novel Approaches and Techniques in Research Methodology.

A 2-day workshop from 29/11/16 to 30/11/16 entitled "Novel Approaches and Techniques in Research Methodology" was organised by Department of English, Chemistry and Mathematics, Govt. Women Engineering College, Ajmer for research scholars and faculty members. The purpose of the workshop was to enhance one's analytical skills as a researcher. The workshop was designed to offer the practical guidelines and direct the researchers through all the stages of research from identifying a research problem to the submission of a dissertation, report writing and research article. Participants were taught to deal with a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods. By the end of programme they were expected to develop conceptual clarity and practical knowledge to undertake quality research and writing good research papers field-reports and project proposals etc.

Activities under Soft Skill Development Committee

Soft Skill Development Classes are being organized under the aegis of Department of English. The Committee headed by Dr. Shikha Jhanwar is being constituted for the same whereas the other faculty members of the department are integral part of the committee. Currently classes for soft skill development are being conducted by Dr. Shikha Jhanwar and Dr. S.B. Gupta for all the students after their teaching hours.
